

Program Description:
SPAN 202 (6 credits) offers a six-week intensive encounter with the language and culture of Spain, guided and supervised by a W&L faculty member. Students stay with families and attend classes at Estudio Internacional Sampere (located in Madrid and El Puerto de Santa María). the program also offers guided excursions to Salamanca, Toledo, Córdoba, Granada and other sites of interest in Spain. There is a winter orientation program that includes informal conversation meetings with Professor Lola Chacón of Estudio Internacional Sampere and group meetings with Professor West-Settle for general information on life in Spain.
April 23 - May 11: Students live and study in El Puerto de Santa María. Weekend excursions to Granada, Córdoba and Sevilla.
May 12 - June 1: Students live and study in Madrid. Weekend excursions to Salamanca, Segovia, and El Escorial.
Students should have completed a fourth semester college course. At W&L, this would be Spanish 162 or 164.
